Obviously this post has a reference to chess, but in this case it's the ULTIMATE GAME. Still if you are unfamilar with CHESS do an image search for chess notation .... it would show that the title of this post points to a "white" pawn being moved towards the end of the board. The more subtle context for the ULTIMATE GAME.... God's pawn moving up in life. For clarity sake this post has nothing to do with strategy or actual play of chess. This chess analogy simply captures the essence of my ULTIMATE GAME status. Even though it's difficult to know when I'm taking control or being played. "God's will be done" and all that.

Naturally it would hold true whether PAWN, knight, bishop, or whatever. FATE vs. FREE WILL. On the positive side, the pervasiveness of the PAWN community adds some comfort. I can look around and see so many others like me. Then again, that's the contradiction and the trouble. I've always had the capabilities of a knight, rook, or bishop and have generally always been a PAWN .... Cannon fodder for the well to do. Thankfully that could soon change with solid moves forward.

So as the edge of the board draws near I'm reminded that I've been here before. Right to the edge of success. Then not! First, the U.S. Air Force Academy, then the Information eQuation and the Information Matrix, then CAProck, the AIRbase Aviation Information System. More recently "Climate Changed (past tense)" and finally DR-KNOW.

Over the years it's been easier to reconsider the measure of success. Rather than its financial definition. Ultimately I realized that success boils down to happiness .... in that regard, seeing my landscaping take shape brings a sense of joy as does some improvement in my writing skill. Physical prowess at my age is also something to be enjoyed. As a benefit, the manual labor produces ample endorphins while added oxygen to the brain adds clarity .... success by every measure except the one that counts for the vast majority: MONEY $$

Still I can hear the strong, confident voice from above: KING's PAWN to D7.
