WAR, economic collapse, chaos

The Ukrainian people have surprised everyone. They not only stood and fought in
the face of overwhelming odds, but have started taking back ground. This unthinkable
turn of events coupled with global condemnation hopefully sent a message to all
authoritarian governments with destructive designs. Then again the war is far from
over. The damaged Russian war machine still retains the capacity to wreak havoc.
There's also the Russian leadership to consider. While Vladimir Putin proved smart
in the past, desperation could push him to do the unthinkable.
At the outset, Russian troops rapidly advanced on three sides. Everything was in
their favor ... mostly ... still, the unprovoked aggression would not go unchecked
and with limited weapons the brave Ukrainians denied Russia a quick victory. As a result,
battle lines have stabilized. Now, after four weeks of fighting, both sides are digging
in for a long fight. That ominous situation in the global Bread Basket has bifurcated the
apocalyptic timeline. As a consequence, many analysts anticipate a protracted war that
could last for years. Given thought a keen observer might make the opposite assumption.
After all, there's a growing number of global stressors and an unpredictable Vladimir
Putin that suggest a shorter timeline.
Ultimately the failure of the Russian battle plan has split the timeline of apocalyptic
events. One branch considers Putin having the patience to wear the Ukrainians down. In
the second, Putin makes a dramatic attempt to shorten the conflict. Lacking clarity of
the Russian resolve and the restraint of Vladimir Putin, the world must wait for the
future to take hold.
In the first scenario, a long war will disrupt global food supplies leading to hunger
and famine ... Up to a third of the global grain output could be lost without shipments
from Ukraine and Russia. Not to mention that Russia is one of the world's largest supplier
of agricultural fertilizer. Thus a long war is a slow, but certain road to global chaos and
the apocalypse. A dramatic escalation by Putin, on the other hand, would further outrage global
leaders and widen the conflict. That's the explosive road to the apocalypse. Either way, it
doesn't look good.
So absent news of a dramatic escalation in the Ukraine war, the clock will slowly tick towards
a famine induced chaos ....
In other news pointing towards global chaos, China is imposing a full lockdown on the world's
largest city, Shanghai -- this ZERO COVID policy has a no exception order for 26 million
people to stay in their homes for 5 days -- three weeks ago as the daily covid case count
topped 50,000 in Hong Kong, a previous city-wide lockdown was announced that spurred panic
buying and a massive exodus -- oddly there was no news that the Hong Kong lockdown actually
occurred -- regardless, China's ZERO COVID policy has fomented unrest and further damaged the
global supply chain.
That means INFLATION IS HERE TO STAY - in turn, interest rates will continue to rise making
it more difficult for governments to borrow money - loan defaults could lead to an ECONOMIC
COLLAPSE -- this too would be a slow process -- though more likely dystopian than apocalyptic.
Still, the dominoes are falling.
