The RUSSIAN INVASION OF THE UKRAINE has become a FAST MOVING event and will be updated by addendum instead of creating new posts.

Three days ago there was a battle at the largest nuclear powerplant in Europe. This comes in addition to the Russian capture of the Chernobyl nuclear facility. Perhaps more alarming, there are reports of indiscriminate targeting of civilians. Consequently, CIVILIAN CASUALTIES have been on the rise as has the number of refugees. _ the clock has been raised to 10:35pm after raising clock 5 minutes on events in Ukraine.

(03-07-22 President Biden announced a ban on Russian oil imports / Poland attempts to give Ukraine dozens of Soviet Mig 29's fighter jets, but NATO officials do not want the plane flown into German airspace for the transfer __ 10:40pm __ +5 min)

(03-08-22 power supply to the Russian held Chernobyl nuclear facility causing trouble with safety systems ; Russian Foreign Minister calls U.S. sanctions an act of war __ 10:45pm __ +5 min)

(03-15-22 another week of war with some heightened concerns:
1. China may support the Russian war effort
2. Russians have targeted supply convoys very close to the Polish border - NATO territory
3. EU leaders have met with the Ukraine's president in Kyiv - this could draw more countries into the conflict __ 10:50pm __ +5 min)

(03-21-22 the clock is moving up. The new time __ 10:55pm __ better reflects the state of preparedness required for these troubled times)

Just like the COVID scare of 2020, the CLOCK SETTINGS have been updated to incorporated lessons learned. There's a heavier emphasis on news monitoring in the earlier stages that moves into graduated action.
