My day job has taken me into Northeast Texas to the little town of Honey Grove. Just to the south is the North Sulphur River (see pics below) - given my recent concentration on geology I would like to point out the oddities of this river. First & foremsot, the STEEP SLOPEs ; near vertical 30 plus ft. - a cursory investigation showed both shale and limestone although I was more interested in the conglomerate / breccia we encountered a few miles to the east. While there are many creeks across North Texas with limestone bottoms, rivers are another story. Finally there'sthe issue of bends and meanders ... there are none!! Looking from every bridge crossing the North Sulphur River you see a channel that is straight as an arrow with steep sides - a true geologic oddity ... if NOT man-made.


A couple of nights ago after watching "First Man" with Ryan Goosling I had mentioned to Marie that I had `walked on the moon' (in my dreams). That night we also finished the 10-MINUTE MOVIE, "Apollo 13", and started the movie "Mars". The CURRENT-MOVIE influence put my brain is in the right place because I was back on the moon (in my dreams)....

I was in a three man group returning back to our ship after some basic exploration. Noting our depleting oxygen level we decided to enter the Apollo 11 capsule even though it was off limits as a national monument ... (writing this now I realize there is no capsule. Only the base of the spacecraft was left after Neil & Buzz blasted off to return to the command module).


While this is the first post of this kind you might find it interesting that I have been recording my dreams and doing research since 1989.
