CHRISTMAS MOVIES
By: Todd Wheatley
The Mrs. & I had an unusual Christmas this year. Due to child custody arrangements our grandson spent
the Christmas holiday season with his father and the other set of grandparents. So we delayed our
Christmas until he returned on the 28th of December. The extra time allowed Marie and I to watch more
TV this year.
We started the season with our usual NOT CHRISTMAS
selections before getting into the holiday spirit around the 15th of December. We watched the tradition cartoons
(Charlie Brown.., Rudolph the Red.., ect.) during meal times and some feature length Christmas flims at night.
With the kids out of the house and our grandson off with his dad we watched three (3) new CHRISTMAS SHOWS on
Christmas day: "The Christmas Chronicles", "The Christmas Chronicles - 2", "An All American Christmas Carol".
"The Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2" features the comedic couple, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, as Santa and Mrs.
Claus. Both were delightfully charming and delivered plenty of good laughs. Then again these were big budget
mainstream productions. "An All American Christmas Carol", on the other hand, is a "b-movie" production about
a white trash family. It's an adaptation of the traditional "Christmas Carol" with some good humor. Yet to
find it from a random search makes it a special treat.
