There's news that China has reopened for business. The same for South Korea and it's possible the Koreans could squash any new COVID-19 outbreaks in their country. China, maybe not so much with cities like Hong Kong and Shanghai. Yet whatever successes these two countries have they're not the United States.

Any ECONOMIC REBOUND ... ANYWHERE ... must consider the fate of the world as a whole. China, for example, will find it hard to rebound without the United States. The U.S., on the other hand, needs Mexico and Canada. Africa needs the whole world as does South America. Without the remittances ex-pats send to their families in Africa and South America those entire continents will find it difficult to rebound. Every day brings the world's poor closer to disaster. The poor will either starve to death or migrate to Europe and the United States.

Until testing improves for COVID-19, migrants will be stopped cold. Even then the sea of misery will be hard to contain. While the rich have the luxury to wait out the virus. The poor will soon mobilize out of necessity just like the millions in India. The longer this goes on the larger those ranks will be.

Given the level of globalization today, everybody needs everybody. But as "states" start to fail, revolt will turn to war and the economy will rebound as the war machine heats up.
